Lot Description

A late Victorian small silver photograph frame, the rectangular aperture with pierced shaped surround depicting figural, floral and animal motifs surrounding an initialled cartouche, with material reverse (a/f). Hallmarked London 1887, maker's mark partly distorted possibly William Comyns & Sons. Height measuring 4 3/8 inches (11.3 cm).

In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The cartouche is engraved with the initial 'R'. Visible solder repairs to the pierced surround which has covered some of the decoration. There is no glass panel present. The material reverse is missing its easel support, requires attention. Maker's mark partly distorted, other hallmarks clear and legible.
