In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The pierced grille is not attached to the interior hinge, possible later replacement, appears unmarked. The main hinge appears loose with some sideways movement, the case shuts but not fully secure. The fruit knife has a silver blade and mother-of-pearl handle which has a vacant cartouche and carved decoration, the tip of the blade is slightly bent and difficult to fold out, the silver also appears quite thin.
