Lot Description

A George III silver vinaigrette, of octagonal sided form with bright-cut cross hatch decoration to the hinged cover, opening to the reveal a silver-gilt interior with simple drilled holes to the grille. Hallmarked Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham 1802. Width measures 2.7 cm, weight 7.9 grams.

In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The case shuts securely with a minor dint to the base. Some signs of Verdigris to the interior. Some darker areas of scratches/marks to the rim of the grille. Hallmarks slightly worn but still legible.
