Lot Description
A mid-twentieth century Scottish silver mounted Sgian-dubh, with Celtic interlace mounts to the removable leather sheath, opening to reveal a single-edged knife, the wooden hilt with carved relief knots, missing pommel stone to the terminal, engraved initials verso. Hallmarked T K Ebbutt Ltd., Edinburgh 1949. Length measuring 7 5/8 inches (19.3 cm).

Condition Report
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Engraved with the initials 'E. P. G'. The terminal is missing its pommel stone, with some hardened residue around this area. The tip of the knife is slightly bent with some heavier tarnishing to the blade near the join. Hallmarks clear and legible, further marked 'Scotland Made in Edinburgh'.
