Lot Description
A mid Victorian gold reverse intaglio stick pin. The circular rock crystal cabochon, carved and painted to depict a hound, with rope-twist surround, to the reverse inscribed 'From The Duchess Athole, 23 June 1860, Volt. Review, W. E.'. Length 9.8cms. Weight 6.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Possible alterations may have occurred to the piece.
<li>Some slight damage and dents to rock crystal surround.
<li>Intaglio rotates slightly within the mount.
<li>Painting in good condition with some small patches of flaking.
<li>'of' has been later scratch engraved into the inscription to read 'Duchess of Athole'.
<li>Diameter of stick pin head 2.1cms.
