Lot Description

A Georgian gold enamel mourning brooch. Of navette outline, the sepia panel depicting a man by an urn, with split pearl, gold and hair highlights, to the blue enamel and bead surrounds. Length 4.1cms. Weight 12.6gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Engraving to reverse appears to read 'Ann Dashwood. Ob. 6. March 1782. at. 29'.

<li>Portrait in good to fair condition.

<li>Glazed panel to portrait with some small scratches.
