A pair of large 19th century Meissen figurines, The Gardener and Companion, both figures in 18th century dress, the male figure leaning against a plinth, each holding a basket of flowers in one hand and a posey in the other, upon naturalistic bases and with crossed swords marks beneath, the male figure impressed beneath 101 B. 65, the female figure impressed beneath 101, 51, 2868, (both a/f), 19.25" (49cm) high.

Male figure - losses to poesy and flowers in basket, one finger missing, losses to leaves on trunk above plinth, loss to leaves on base, chip to edge of overcoat, chip to scarf around overcoat, loss to hair at back of figure, crack running through base but only visible beneath.
Female figure - losses to flowers in hat and ribbon around hat, loss to ribbon at back of necklace, losses to basket handle, flowers in basket and flowers in hands, chip to edge of sleeve, small crack to back of draped shawl and larger crack to front, chips to branch behind figure, small chip to edge of foot, losses to leaves on base, crack running through base but only visible beneath.
