Lot Description

A late Victorian silver shot cup, of plain tapered form with two engraved monograms and inset coin to the base, hallmarked Henry Stratford Ltd., Sheffield 1890, height measuring 2 1/2 inches (6.7 cm). Together with a modern silver mounted scent bottle, of clear cut-glass form with hinged globular lid opening to reveal a glass stopper, hallmarked Sheffield 2000, a further modern silver mounted scent bottle, plus a selection of seven enamelled boxes, an enamelled thimble and enamelled cased travelling clock. In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The shot cup is engraved with two monograms with 'From' in between, the coin to the base is dated 1887, slight crease to the edge of the cup. Some of the enamelled boxes have celebratory messages such as 'Happy Birthday' or 'With love on this special day' etc., they all have hinged lids, some Bilston examples. The travelling clock stands up in the case when opened, Fellows cannot guarantee the working order or accuracy, the dial is marked 'Swiss Made'. Hallmarks clear and legible.
