Lot Description
A 1920's silver and enamel compact case, the rectangular form with curved sides, the whole with engraved silver edging enclosing aqua blue guilloche enamel decoration in radiating waves, the hinged sliding cover opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked London import 1928, maker's mark C & C, possibly Cohen & Charles. Length measuring 8cm, gross weight 142 grams.

Condition Report
Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Some tarnishing to silver parts. Surface nicks and scratches to enamel and a few edge nibbles, larger edge chip to one on curved section near to hinges. Slide opening and closing appears in good working order. Some staining and tarnishing to gilding, especially around edges, also contact marks from the slide opening movement. Hallmarks clear and legible. Indented panel to lid reverse, possibly for a mirror?
