Lot Description

A George III Irish silver meat skewer, of typical tapering form with engraved crest below the circular ring handle. Hallmarked Dublin 1815, maker's mark 'IS' in a rectangular punch. Length measuring 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm), weight 26.2 grams.

Condition Report

The skewer displays some tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Some heavier surface damage towards the pointed end with several deeper nicks and scratches and the tip is a little bent and rounded. Hallmarks are clear and legible. Maker's mark could possibly be that of Isaac Solomon or James Scott?
