Lot Description

A late 19th century gold amethyst and split pearl brooch. Designed as an oval-shape amethyst, with graduated split pearl surround and openwork gallery. May be worn as a pendant. Estimated dimensions of amethyst 28 by 21.7 by 13.5mms. Length 3.7cms. Weight 19.7gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Possibly adapted from another piece of jewellery. Brooch and pendant fittings later additions.

<li>One split pearl possible replacement. Glue residue visible to mount.

<li>One split pearl with noticeable damage to nacre. Split pearls in otherwise good condition.

<li>Amethyst in fair to good condition, with some abrasions and a few deeper surface scratches that are eye visible.
