Lot Description

A George III silver cream jug, the oval form with reeded rim above fluted and lobed decoration to the main body and initial engraving to one side, with flat top curved handle. Hallmarked John Emes, London 1807. Height including handle measuring 4 3/8 inches (11.2 cm), weight 5.72 ozt (178 grams).

With heavy tarnishing to some areas and would benefit from a clean and polish. Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Visible seam lines, to the main body on the handle side and around the base rim, with possible repairs. Interior gilded but now faded to some areas. Hallmarks located below the rim, with some rubbing and slight distortion but still clearly legible.
