Lot Description

A cased Victorian silver dessert set for twelve place settings, one set of six with green bloodstone handles, the other agate. Tines and blades hallmarked William Hutton & Sons (Edward Hutton), London 1889. In fitted mahogany veneer case.

Appears in fair overall condition, all pieces displaying some general expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Also some tarnishing to the silver parts. The tips of some of the fork tines are a little bent or uneven but they have generally faired quite well and retained sharpness. to tips. On the set with the grey agate handles, one of the knife blades is loose in the ferrule mount and can be easily removed. Also some damage to some of the forks with slight variance in handle size and likely repairs around some joins. The set with green bloodstone handles appears in slightly better condition. Hallmarks with some rubbing but mostly clear and legible. Mahogany case appears in fairly good overall condition.
