Lot Description
A pair of George II silver open salts, each of plain cauldron shape and raised on stepped hoof feet, hallmarks worn but probably 1749 and 1750, with bue glass liners. Together with a pair of George III silver open salts, of similar form and embossed with flowers, hallmarked Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid, London 1817, plus a pair of George III silver salt spoons, hallmarked Thomas Wallis (II) & Jonathan Hayne, London 1816. Silver weight 7.18 ozt (223.2 grams).

Condition Report
All pieces in the lot displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some surface dints and bumps and visible impressions from some feet. The George II pair with replacement glass liners, the hallmarks are located to the underside and are heavily rubbed and worn, with some marks indistinct. Maker's mark is possibly 'I*W'. The later pair display numerous deeper scratches and marks to the interiors and the rims are slightly misshapen. Possibly once gilded with some traces remaining. Hallmarks rubbed but legible, missing liners. Salt spoons have faired quite well, bowl to one a little misshapen.
