A late 19th century black lacquered and gilt chinoiserie lady's work box, the hinged rectangular shaped cover decorated with Oriental scenes, lifting to reveal a compartmented and fitted interior, (a/f), 24.5" x 16.25" (62cm x 41cm).

Box has some ivory fittings to interior, split to to top, and top has heavy wear and rubbing. Box believed to be have been originally a table. Now lacking legs.
