Lot Description
An early 20th century gold diamond and gem-set fly brooch. The old-cut diamond and oval-shape sapphire body, with circular-shape ruby eyes and engraved wings, atop a plain bar. Estimated diamond weight 0.35ct, H-I colour, SI clarity. Estimated dimensions of sapphire 5.6 by 4.2 by 3.1mms. Length 5cms. Weight 3.4gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Bar is a later addition, brooch possibly converted from another piece of jewellery.
<li>Diamond lively, with small, light, but surface reaching feather in the crown.
<li>Sapphire is a medium deep blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Small cavity to girdle extending into the crown.
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
