A mid Victorian gold gem-set brooch. Of oval outline, the rectangular-shape emerald and green gem line, within a split pearl surround, to the textured glazed panel reverse, suspending a swag and fringe drop. One split pearl deficient. Length 9.2cms. Weight 17.3gms.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>One split pearl deficient.
<li>Some gemstones are replacements.
<li>Brooch with glazed panel reverse, in good condition.
<li>Brooch pin testing as base metal.
<li>Some emeralds with noticeable surface reaching inclusions.
<li>All green gems are in good to fair condition with minor abrasions.
<li>Due to setting restrictions we are unable to determine the identity of all green gems without further testing.
<li>Split pearls are a creamy white to slightly greyish white colour, with rose and greenish overtones.
<li>Split pearls in good to fair condition with some minor abrasions and nacre damage.
<li>Brooch electronically tests as gold.
