Lot Description
An Art Deco platinum and gold diamond ring. Of openwork design, the old-cut diamond hexagonal collet, with single-cut diamond geometric surround, to the replacement 18ct gold band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.75ct, principal diamond estimated I-J colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. Ring size N. Weight 3.1gms.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/wear and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Evidence of possible repair work/ alterations.
<li>Replacement band.
<li>Diamonds bright.<p>
<li>Principal diamond with few minor inclusions. Small dark inclusion visible to one of the crown facets under 10x magnifcation.
<li>Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Non-principal diamonds with some small light and dark inclusions under 10x magnification.
<li>Length of ring head 1.5cms.
<li>Replacement band with French assay marks for 18ct gold.
<li>Ring head tests as platinum to the top and gold to the gallery.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
