Lot Description

A mid 20th century jade and diamond brooch. Designed as two foliate carved and pierced jadeite panels, with pave-set diamond floral cap, to the vari-cut diamond scrolling line stems. May be worn as a pendant. Estimated dimensions of one jadeite panel 35 by 22mms. Estimated total diamond weight 1.75cts. Stamped 18K. Length 8.5cms. Weight 21gms. Jade untested.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>With hinged pendant suspension fitting to the reverse of the cap.

<li>Diamonds well matched.

<li>Diamonds bright.<p>

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Round diamonds generally with small light inclusions. Some with small chips and cavities.

<li>Baguette-cut diamonds with few minor inclusions.

<li>Jade untested for natural colour origin.

<li>Jade has a mottled appearance, mostly a medium to dark green colour, with some whitish patches to the edges.

<li>Jade in good condition.

<li>Stamped 18k.
