Lot Description

A pair of Edwardian silver candlesticks, each of plain navette form with stepped and filled base rising to a tapered stem and urn socket with removable nozzle. Hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd., London 1908. Height 9.5" (24 cm).

Both candlesticks with heavy tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish.

Displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.

Some small holes to stepped edges and corners of each base.

Further small dints and nicks throughout and likely seam repairs?

One candlestick with some creasing and cracks in the metal below the lower knop of stem.

Both nozzles appear to be a tight fit, one with repair to inner rim, the other with some creasing to metal.

Hallmarks a little rubbed but still clearly legible. Corresponding part hallmarks to base, interior of socket and full hallmarks to nozzle. Also numbered 8692 to socket interior and impressed maker's name and address to underside of each base.
