Lot Description

A pair of George III silver cauldron salts, each with gadrooned rim and raised upon three shell mounted hoof feet. Hallmarked London, date letter and maker's mark worn and indistinct. Weight 3.52 ozt (109.6 grams).

With scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.

Feet slightly bent and uneven, however salts are stable.

Body of salts with a number of shallow knocks and indentations.

Feet with deeper scratches, nicks and heavy pitting and indentations.

Date letter worn and indistinct, possibly 1765/1772.
