Lot Description

A pair of late Victorian silver small quaich bowls, each of circular form on collet foot with pierced twin handles, hallmarked London 1891, maker's mark worn, length across 3" (7.5cm). Together with a silver butter dish, in the form of a scallop shell and raised on three ball feet, hallmarked James Deakin & Sons, Sheffield 1897, length 4" (10cm). Total weight 2.89 ozt (90 grams).

All displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.

Pair of quaich bowls with some heavier wear around rims and metal appears a little thinner in places. Incised line borders below rim rubbed and worn in parts. One example also with some small surface dints. Hallmarks to both significantly rubbed with parts worn and maker's mark now illegible.

Shell dish with slight knock to handle edge. Hallmarks with slight rubbing but clear and legible.
