A George I Britannia silver bun top caster, the plain bellied form with girdle detail above a footed base, with later engraved initials, the removable cover with stylised foliate piercing. Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Appears in fairly good overall condition given the age. Displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.

A few minor surface dints, cracks and nicks.

Heavier knocks around the foot rim and a large split in the metal.

Flood of solder visible to interior base.

The slip-in lid appears a good fit.

Hallmarks located to base, these are rubbed and partly distorted but mostly legible. Maker's mark partly worn. Also incised G * A with a further letter above, possibly 'S'? Only remnants of hallmarks to lid, part of the lion's head erased is visible.
