Lot Description

An Edwardian silver caster, the plain baluster body with girdle detail above a domed footed base, the removable cover with incised panel decoration pierced with cross motifs below a band of simple drilled holes. Hallmarked Gibson & Co Ltd., London 1904. Height including finial 8" (20.2cm), weight 7.77 ozt (241.7 grams).

Displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Minor surface dints, including a couple around the top of the lid. Also minor knocks around the inner rim of the lid so that it is very slightly misshapen.

Lid is a good tight fit.

Hallmarks to main body are partly rubbed, especially the date letter. Marks repeated to inner rim of cover, these clear and legible.
