Lot Description

A Victorian silver sovereign holder, of circular form with engraved scroll decoration to the whole and central engraved and dated cartouche, the press release case opening to reveal an engine turned sprung platform holder for a full sovereign, hallmarked John Millward Banks, Birmingham 1892, diameter 3 cm. Together with a silver page marker, modelled as a dagger, the blade marked C&N Silver Made in England, length 12cm. Gross weight 24 grams. (2).

Hinged cover does not close flush to, and push action mechanism does not work fully. Sprung platform appears knocked.
