A child's silver rattle and whistle, of spherical form mounted with three bells and mother-of-pearl teething ring, hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd, Birmingham, 1917 or 1942, maximum length 3.25" (8.5 cm). Together with a further 1920's silver rattle, modelled as a heart with engraved detail and ivorine teething ring, hallmarked Adie & Lovekin Ltd, Birmingham, 1921, maximum length 3" (7.5 cm). (2).

Second example also with indentations and knocks, particularly to centre, and some lifting to rattle opening. Lifting or possible split to silver ring containing ivorine teething ring.
