Lot Description
A 1920's silver and enamel cigarette case, of rounded rectangular form with blue guilloche enamel decoration to the whole, hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd, Birmingham 1927, length 3.25" (8.5cm). Together with a silver and enamel circular compact, with yellow guilloche enamel to the hinged cover, hallmarked Birmingham 1928, makers mark worn and indistinct, plus an Edwardian silver ring box, of rectangular form with embossed foliate decoration to base and figural scene to the domed hinged cover, hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1906, and a pair of silver sugar tongs, hallmarked Angora Silver Plate Co, Sheffield 1939. Condition Report
All items with scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
Cigarette case enamel with scratches and some small losses, particularly to edges. Gilt interior with scratches, wear and fading.
Compact with small indentation to side. Enamel with scratches and some small losses to edge.
Ring box embossed decoration with splits to cover, and base with indentations and small knocks to underside.
Sugar tongs with some nicks throughout, and bowls are slightly out of alignment.
