Lot Description

An early George V silver mounted jewellery box, of demi-lune form and raised on four cabriole style legs, the hinged lid with engine-turned wavy line decoration enclosing a central vacant roundel and opening to a silk lined interior. Hallmarked Charles S Green & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1912. Maximum length 4.75" (12cm).

Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.

Several little surface dints and bumps to the whole.

Hinged lid appears in working order but does not close flush and rises when closed.

One of the front feet is now upturned so that the box has a wobble.

Material lining with wear, discolouration and tears. Base lining also fairly worn.

Hallmarks located to the inner rim with part hallmarks to edge of lid. Some light rubbing but all clearly legible.
