Lot Description

An Edwardian silver playing card case, of plain rectangular form with domed hinged cover, hallmarked Charles S Green & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1909, height 3.25" (8cm). Together with a later example with pierced suit of cards detail, hallmarked Harrison Brothers & Howson Ltd, Birmingham 1997, height 3.75" (9.5cm). Total weight 5.43 ozt (169 grams). (2).

Edwardian example with a number of indentations and knocks throughout. Base slightly rounded and with knocks to corners, case unsteady on base. Part hallmarks to cover worn but legible.

Later example heavily tarnished.
