Lot Description

An early Victorian silver mustard pot, the circular form with foliate scroll pierced sides to a slightly spread shaped base, the hinged lid similarly engraved with conforming pierced thumb-piece to a double scroll handle, with a blue glass liner, hallmarked Charles Thomas Fox & George Fox, London 1841; together with a later mustard spoon, hallmarked C J Vander Ltd., London 1961. Silver weight excluding glass 4.36 ozt (135.6 grams).

Displaying general light surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Some repairs to pierced decoration, including some at joins. Also some minor knocks and dints and one foliate end folded over.

Hinged lid appears in good working order and closes flush.

Hallmarks located to base with matching part hallmarks to reverse of lid, these all clearly legible with light rubbing.

Glass liner in good order, likely a replacement. Minor edge nibbles.
