Lot Description

A pair of late Victorian silver mounted candlesticks, each with stepped square base having beaded borders and rising to a classical fluted column with a Corinthian style capital and shaped nozzle with repeated bead detail. Hallmarked Mappin Brothers, Sheffield 1894/95. Height 6.25" (16cm).

Displaying some general expected surface wear, marks and scratches. Also some tarnishing, heavier to some areas.

Numerous surface nicks and little dints, especially along edges and to corners.

Some visible seam lines and a few small holes or cracks starting to appear. Also some likely repairs.

Nozzles appear jammed in position.

Lining to bases very worn and stained and one hanging off.  

Hallmarks located to base edge, worn and rubbed but still legible.
