Lot Description

A pair of George III small silver casters, each of vase shape to a square base, with fluted detail to the lower body and the removable domed lid with simple drilled holes in a star pattern, one with later finial. Hallmarked William Sumner I, London 1804. Approximate height 4" (10cm), weight 5.55 ozt (172.6 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both displaying general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Some minor dints and bumps.

One caster with several creases to the stem. The lid of this caster has a small finial likely added later. This has caused compression to the centre.

The other caster wobbles slightly.

Both lids appear to be a good fit.

Hallmarked to side of square bases, these are clear and legible.

Lids marked with lion passant only, these heavily rubbed.
