A late Victorian silver chatelaine, the shaped and pierced mount of bi-form, decorated with a central cherub head below swan-like birds and surrounded with foliate detail, supporting five cable chains and five associated accessories, comprising a small circular mesh purse, an embossed scissor case, hallmarked David & Lionel Spiers, Birmingham 1888, an urn shaped container, an egg-shaped container with mother-and-child finial, hallmarked Birmingham 1888, and an embossed aide memoire with four bell-shaped ivory leaves, hallmarked Henry Griffith & Sons Ltd, Birmingham 1888. The chatelaine marked with lion passant, Birmingham 1888. Length approximately 10.25" (26cm). Total gross weight 5.5ozt (155.3 grams).
