A late Victorian no-heat sapphire, rose-cut diamond and pearl fly brooch.


Verbal from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, stating no heat.
Sapphire weight 0.90ct.
Length 3cms. 6.6gms.
Pearl untested for natural origin.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches, general slight discolouration and minor dents in keeping with age and wear.

<li>Fly with ruby eyes.

<li>Diamonds well matched.

<li>Size and cut of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Two diamonds nicked.

<li>Replacement clasp. Later safety chain.

<li>Minor glue to one wing tip.

<li>Pearl untested for natural origin.

<li>Pearl is a creamy hue, soft lustre. Minor damage to outer nacre layers.

<li>Sapphire is a deep blue hue. Minor abrasion to facet edges.

<li>Rubies are a well matched medium deep slightly pinkish red hue.
