Lot Description

A late 19th century silver and gold, carved moonstone cherub brooch, with calibré ruby line and rose-cut diamond highlights.

French assay marks. Length 3.5cms. 8.7gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Section of one of the wings has broken off and been glued back together. Does not appear perfectly aligned. Some glue residue visible at various contact points across the back of the cherub.

<li>Some discolouration to the metal.

<li>Diamonds appear fairly bright, some with inclusions, chips and nicks.

<li>Rubies appear a well matched medium pinkish red hue, fairly well saturated, with good to fair clarity and some typical inclusions.<p>

<li>Rubies generally in good condition, with some light abrasions. One with a moderate chip to one side and few with small nicks.<p>
