Full Lot Description
A mid-Victorian silver-gilt and clear glass cruet set, comprising an open salt with a glass liner, and glass mustard and pepper pots each with silver-gilt mounts, all of barrel form, the hinged lid of the mustard with engraved monogram and date 1862, all standing on a trefoil base with scroll handle, rope twist wire supports and three bun feet, hallmarked George Fox, London 1861, salt dated 1864, together with later silver-gilt mustard and salt spoons, hallmarked J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd., Birmingham 1986. Weighable silver excluding glass 4.88 ozt (152 grams).

<li>All pieces displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use.
<li>Some fading and discolouration/dirt to gilding.
<li>Some minor surface dints and bumps, including around edges and rims.
<li>Base with circular ring marks.
<li>Open salt with dint to one side, very slightly misshapen rim and a possible repair along seam line.
<li>Hinged lid of mustard appears in good working order, rises very slightly when closed.
<li>Pull-off lid to pepper pot is a fairly good fit, some edges do not lie completely flat.
<li>Some mimor nibbles and chips to glass barrels.
<li>Clear glass liner to salt is a likely replacement.
<li>Some partial rubbing and distortion to hallmarks but mostly clear and legible.
<li>All parts hallmarked.
