Lot Description

A late 19th century gold hardstone agate cameo, depicting Omphale, with pearl and blue enamel surround, suspended from an alternating pearl and blue enamel bead chain.

Length of pendant 5.6cms. Length of chain 47cms. 29.4gms.
Pearls untested for natural origin.

<li>Scratches, small marks, general varied discolouration.
<li>Pendant possibly converted/altered, soft solder visible to reverse of agate.
<li>Enamel with small nicks and losses, few beads with more noticeable chips. Enamel to surmount almost entirely deficient.
<li>Cameo has small chips to the grape leaves in her hair.
<li>Pearls untested for natural origin.
<li>Pearls are drilled. Mostly well matched, off-round to semi-baroque, cream hues with varied overtones and lustre. Mostly good, some with varied degrees of wear.
<li>Estimated diameter range 4.6 to 3.3mms.
