Condition Report

Displaying some surface scratches, wear, marks and tarnishing.

Mounts to perfume test as 16-17 carat. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.

Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver, gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.

Shagreen shows some losses and wear throughout, especially to the top of lid.

Metal mounts on shagreen appear fairly dull and tarnished.

There is a slight split to the seam line running from hinge to base of body.

Hinged lid appears in working order, however it rises up again slightly when closed and causing a slight gap; the push button and clasp also appear quite stiff.

The velvet lined interior appears worn and faded and a little threadbare in places, with some losses and tears; lacking either a funnel or dabber to centre of case.

Some dirt residues and minor chips/nibbles to glass but overall appear in fairly good condition; lids screw on; all stoppers present.

All lids struck with various indistinct marks, possibly French charge/discharge marks?

Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.

Due to size, weight or fragility of this lot, we cannot guarantee in-house shipping and would advise contacting the team before bidding to discuss possible shipping charges or disclaimers.
