Full Lot Description
An Edwardian silver trophy cup 'Presteigne Horse Show, Sept. 17 1907, Champion Cup, For The Best Exhibit in Classes 2-11', the spread foot raised with detachable plinth, of typical form, with twin handles rising from central girdle, each having a swirl terminal over flared rim. Hallmarked Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1906. Height of trophy 7.5" (19cm), weight 12.53 ozt (390 grams).

- Item shows general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Full inscription reads 'Presteigne Horse Show, Sept. 17 1907, Champion Cup, For The Best Exhibit in Classes 2-11, Given By Mr Philip Davies Auctioneer.Presteigne & Won By Mr J.Ferneyhough. The Lawns, Grosmont Hereford'.
- Interior curve to one handle shows some notable creasing and bashing. The mount to the other handle shows a split.
- Mounts to handles are very tarnished and dirty.
- Area beneath one handle shows some surface polish.
- Item shows some small bashes to lower body.
- Dark tarnishing spots are evident to interior base.
- Item is slightly wobbly on foot.
