Cycling Medals, a remarkable collection of cycling medals awarded to Frederick Thomas Stillwell between 1934 and 1939, comprising London, St Martin’s Cycling Club, award medals (17) by L Simpson & Co., enamelled City of London arms over a bicycle wheel with crown and wings above, CC each side, ST MARTINS on banner below, silver medals with gilded arms (11) for distances between 25 and 100 miles, silver medals (3) for distances of 25 and 30 miles, bronze (3) for distances of 25 and 30 miles, each medal 26mm, in boxes of issue from L Simpson, King’s Cross, London; further cycling award silver medals (3), Oval Cycling Club by W Hinds, Eastern Counties Cycling Association by L Simpson, Upper Holloway Cycling Club by Vaughton, all awarded 1939, with cases; Royal Life Saving Society bronze medal awarded 1928, with original case, and a photograph of F T Stillwell from a Romford studio together with his birth certificate, Bethnal Green, London, 16th July 1913, an interesting medallic archive.
