Very fine, very rare.
A James Taylor (b.1803) was tried at Lancaster Quarter Sessions on 4th May 1829 and transported for seven years for stealing a watch. He left on the Marquis of Huntley on 5th April 1830, arriving in New South Wales on 21st August. His freedom was granted in May 1836. Although it is not certain that this is the same James Taylor to whom this token relates, it is a plausible candidate.
