Full Lot Description
An American silver embossed bowl and saucer set, each having bird, foliate and foliage decoration, engraved 'Elizabeth Bancroft Sherman Hoyt Oct 16 1885' to base. Stamped S. Kirk & Son, with further 11oz mark (1861-1868). Height of bowl 3.25" (8.3cm), diameter of plate 7.5" (19.2cm). Overall weight 15.57 ozt (484.3 grams).

Condition Report
•Items shows moderate surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
•The base of the bowl is very bashed and bumpy, with several smaller bashes to base of plate. This is visible from above, for both items.
•Recesses to embossed decoration shows polish residue.
•Interior bowl to plate is very scratched.
•Interior to bowl is extremely rusted and dark.
•Items test around 93-94% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
