Lot Description

A late Victorian 15ct gold emerald, pearl and old-cut diamond pendant, with chain.
May be worn as a brooch.

Central emerald calculated weight 0.71ct, based on estimated dimensions of 5.4 by 4.9 by 4.2mms.
Estimated total diamond weight 0.90ct
Chain stamped 15C.
Length of pendant 4.6cms. Length of chain 45cms. 15.4gms.
Pearls untested for natural origin.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Replacement brooch and hinged surmount.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
Four diamonds chipped/nicked. Varied inclusions, some surface reaching.
Emeralds appear fairly well matched with a a light medium to deep medium slightly bluish green.
Three emeralds with small nicks.
Pearls untested for natural origin.
Pearls appear a well matched semi-baroque cream, varied overtones, good lustre.
Estimated length 4.3 to 4.8mms.
Electronically tests to reverse as approximately 15ct gold and to surmount as approximately 18ct gold. Brooch fittings untested.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
