Two silver mounted glass inkwells of square form, the first Edwardian example having cut diamond pattern to base and silver interchangeable plaque to front with compressed bulbous hinged lid, hallmarked Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1907, the second of plain design with smoky glass and silver flat hinged lid, hallmarked John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham 1920 or 1945. Diameter of larger base 10cm.

Condition Report
- Both showing moderate surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing
- Hallmarks quite rubbed
- Patterned inkwell has '54' engraved next to hallmarks
- Tinted inkwell has '15318' engraved to back of lid
- Glass liner to tinted inkwell damaged, and missing piece of glass
- Both have chips, scratches and wear to glass bodies
- Scratches and dents to silver lids
- Tarnish and blackening to one of the inkwell lids
