Full Lot Description
An Edwardian silver pedestal cup and cover, the wrythen fluted ovoid body with arabesque and stiff leaf borders, and fluted, domed lift-off lid, hallmarked Frank Hyams Ltd., London 1904, weight 10.83ozt (336.7g); standing on a later wooden plinth with applied presentation plaques for 'Ashton-u-Lyne Club Trophy 1952'. Height of cup 16.5cm, total height with plinth 21cm.

Condition Report
- The cup and cover appears very dirty and tarnished all over and in need of a clean.
- With some staining and residues inside.
- With some general surface wear, marks and scratches and a couple of slight dints.
- The ovoid body appears to lean slightly; possible repair around the stem
- The lid sits well on top of the cup.
- Hallmarks located to the edge of the foot and repeated to the lid; maker's marks are a little rubbed and distorted but other punches are clear and legible.
- Wooden plinth with some damage and losses.
- Base with four applied plaques; three marked SILVER, the fourth not marked; one plaque engraved 'Ashton-u-Lyne Club Trophy 1952', the others engraved with winners names and dates from 1952 to 1965 (some years missing).
