Full Lot Description
A pair of French silver sugar tongs, the foliate decorated arms leading to lion paw grips, with Minerva mark for 950 standard and maker's mark, length 10cm; together with a pair of French scissor action tongs, with guarantee and discharge marks, length 11.8cm. Weight 2.05ozt (64g). (2).

Condition Report
- Both pairs of tongs displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age
- Claw grip tongs:
- Arms are slightly out of alignment when pressed together
- One of the arms appears to lean slightly at the end just below the claw grip
- Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the raised decoration
- Both arms struck with Minerva 950 standard mark
- Further maker's mark to one of the arms - AC or AG
- Bigorne marks inside arms
- Scissor tongs:
- Metal has dull appearance
- Scissor action in working order
- Arms and shell grips slightly out of alignment when closed together
- One arm leans outwards and there looks to be solder repair at the base where it joins the central section
- Slight knocks around the finger rings and they appear a little misshapen
- Struck with various marks including a swan, weevil, and probably a Paris discharge mark
