Full Lot Description
A late Victorian silver hip flask, of rounded rectangular form with removable cup and monogram engraved, the bulbous hinged lid with bayonet closure. Hallmarked Colen Hewer Cheshire, Birmingham 1896. Height 16.5cm, gross weight 11.04ozt (343.5g).

Condition Report
- Displaying some surface wear, marks and scratches all over
- Appears quite dirty with fairly heavy tarnishing and blackening to some areas
- With some minor surface nicks and dints
- Seam line visible all the way around the body and cup; some possible repairs, including to shoulders
- Removable cup is a fairly tight fit; gilded inside, appears quite bright
- Bayonet closure appears in good working order and closes securely; with loose cork inside
- Visible seam around the bulbous lid showing cracks and repairs
- Hallmarks located to main body above the monogram with part marks to the lower body, and further full hallmarks to the removable cup; some of the marks appear a little rubbed and the punches are blackened, but all still legible
- Engraved monogram to main body is repeated to the cup
- Cup also stamped DAVID CRICHTON EDINBURGH to base
