Full Lot Description
A late Victorian silver inkwell, of slightly tapering, cylindrical form with central girdle, the top with five pen apertures surrounding the hinged cover. Hallmarked Walter & John Barnard, London 1891. Diameter of base 8.7cm, height 5cm, weight 4.62ozt (143.8g).

Condition Report
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use
- Some minor surface nicks and dints
- Some heavier scuffs and slight knocks around the base rim
- Hinged lid is loose and there is a replacement pin
- Ring marks and scuffs to the top of the inkwell, caused from the continuous contact of the opening and closing of the lid
- Appears heavily tarnished and blackened inside with polish/dirt residues
- Missing internal liner/pot for the ink
- Hallmarks partly rubbed but still legible
- Impressed to base 481
