Lot Description

Carved with the crest of a lion rampant holding in it's dexter paw a wreath of laurel and motto 'Deo Favente Florebo'. 
Personal inscription to inside of the band 'J.R. FROM G.G. 1st Jan'y 1872'.

Scratches and small marks.
Minor fissure to one shoulder. 
Band resized, added section to the back of the band, hallmarks mostly erased.
One ruby snake eye deficient.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. 
Agate shows nibbles and abrasion.
Carving possibly relating to: 
Arthur Frederick Jeffreys (1848-1906) an English first-class cricketer and Conservative politician. 
Born in Australia he returned to the UK to attend Christchurch College Oxford, followed by his admission to the bar. 
He purchased Burkham House estate near Alton, Hampshire and later represented Basingstoke as MP
:however he may have used an alternative motto.
Length of ring head 1.7cms.
