Lot Description

With hinged locket compartment. 
Lapis lazuli untested for natural colour origin. 

Dimensions: Length 2.5cms.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Noticeable discolouration to the front of the lid.
Glazed compartment contains a woven lock of hair.
Turquoise appear fairly well matched. 
One turquoise cracked in two, two further with small nicks.
Lapis lazuli untested for antural colour origin. 
Lapis lazuli appears a deep blue. Moderate abrasion.
Opal shows no apparent play of colour, appears cloudy white. Slight abrasions. 
Garnet appears a deep slightly orangey red. 
Emerald apepars a light medium slightly bluish green. Facet-edge abrasions.
Electronically tests to reverse as approximately 21ct gold, presumed gilt interference.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
